The flavors of the dosai, vadill (i hope i got the name correct), was fantastic. Once you enter, sit yourself and a waiter will come get your order. They serve food within 10 mins which is super fast! While there isnt air conditioning, it can get quite stuffy inside. Also, hopefully they can improve the toilet situation just a little bit. Other than that, food is good and pricing is reasonable!
One of the best thosai is served here. Crispy at edges and soft in the middle. Perfect with it's thick & tasty dhall. It's coconut chutney is thick unlike other places which was too diluted. Go for it's chicken perathal and fried cauliflower too! There are many other choices too such as it's fried spicy BeeHoon, Uppuma, etc.
Came here for tea time, enjoyed their tea time choices thoroughly. There were a few varieties of snacks to choose from, being a vadai lover, I first tried their vadai and it did not disappoint. Also tried their samosa and some sweets which was pretty good. Chai was delicious, will definitely come back when I come to butterworth again. 🙂😋
I honestly don’t understand the negative reviews—this place has been a little sanctuary for me. The staff, even though many are from other countries, make it feel like a second home. They are so kind, caring, and always go out of their way to help. You can feel the warmth in the way they serve you—like you’re part of their family. The food is always fresh and made with love, and the cozy vibe just wraps around you. Whether I come for a quick bite or a long, relaxed meal, it never feels rushed or impersonal. I love supporting this restaurant because they bring such genuine care to every customer. If you’re looking for a place that feels like home, this is it. I can’t recommend it enough!
Simple and nice place for indian food. Plenty of seatings available and friendly staffs. Slightly overpriced.
A visit after so long.. Yes, I came for the egg briyani. 😅 It's a flavorful plate of briyani. A bit pricey.. But, I do LOVE the ambiance over here. 🥰🥰 No harm in eating here once in a while.. P/s : Popular spot for both local & tourist.
The food and drinks were actually good, but the service was totally disappointing. Specifically, the young guy who was serving water had a very bad attitude. It felt like he doesn't know how to do his job properly, or he simply dislikes working there. His lack of interest was clearly visible in his behavior. He doesn't welcome customers properly, nor does he take orders in a polite manner. He doesn't even stand and listen to what we need. We were a group of three people sitting at the table, but he just asked one person for water and rushed away immediately. He doesn't even interact or communicate properly with the customers. This is a very bad attitude from the staff at Sri Ananda Bhavan Restaurant, especially that one particular server. Furthermore, we had to repeatedly call out for staff to get anything done. It’s not that they were short-staffed, but shouldn't the available staff be attentive and serve the customers properly? Many other customers around me were equally frustrated. Honestly, today morning was my worst experience at Sri Ananda Bhavan. The way they handle customers is highly disappointing. They are very prompt in collecting the money, but they fail miserably when it comes to customer service. I don't understand why their behavior is so poor
Awesome environment. An absolute delicious meal we have today! We love the way the food is served, always heat up, fresh and presentable. The staff is very friendly and attentive to request. That is why I always brought my family here every weekend.... Look at empty plates, that is good enough to explain how delicious it is for us.
Good hospitality and reasonable price. Food is not bad. I like their bru coffee and garlic naan with tandoori chicken. A place that I dont mind to come back.
Had an amazing experience at Ananda Bhavan! The food was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The dosa was crispy, the curries were rich, and everything tasted authentic. Service was quick and friendly, and the place was clean and comfortable. Great spot for delicious Indian food. Definitely coming back again.
I had a wonderful dining experience at Sri Ananda Bahwan, Perai. The food was fresh, delicious, and full of authentic South Indian flavours. Every dish was prepared with care, and the service was friendly and efficient. A special highlight was the Kesari dessert—soft, fragrant, perfectly sweet, and a delightful way to end the meal. It was truly one of the best parts of the dining experience! If you’re looking for tasty Indian cuisine, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere, I highly recommend Sri Ananda Bahwan Perai. As I run my wellness and massage shop nearby, Sri Ananda Bahwan, Perai has become one of my favourite places to eat. I come here often because the food always feels like a comforting home-cooked meal. It’s delicious, satisfying, and always makes me feel right at home. A special thank you to all the staff—from the managers, cashiers, servers, and kitchen team. Everyone is always so friendly, caring, welcoming, and attentive, making every visit a pleasant experience.
Bold statement but actually think I had the best rice and curry today. And I’ve eaten a lot of rice and curry on my travels. Had tofu too and the guy was helpful with the food
